Shipping Container Corner Castings: Top and Bottom ISO Fittings Differences Today, we will be looking at corner castings for shipping containers and the differences between the top and bottom fittings. These are on the four corners of a sea container that allows it to be lifted off the ground by a container handler for transportation. People use these for building skids or welding them to containers to lift up with twist locks, forklifts or chassis. On our website, we have many sea can accessories for moving and securing ISO containers. We have twist locking mechanisms, container lifters, bridge fittings, mounting plates, and attach skids.VIDEO
hi i'm channing mccorston the container
guy today we're going to be looking at
corner castings for a shipping container
and there isn't a lot of variants in
these or there shouldn't be because if
there is that's typically a problem with
the manufacturer so there's only one
thing to really show you and we'll just
jump right in after landing a deal on
national television in 2011 where his
team pitched their idea of modifying
shipping containers he went on to start
his own business since then he's
completed thousands of container
modifications for clients in every major
now he wants to teach you everything he
knows about container modifications and
channing mccorrison is the container guy
so here we just got a fresh shipment of
corner casting caught off the boat from
so yeah we actually sell a surprising
amount of these a lot of people use
these even if they're building some sort
who knows like just a lot of metal
fabricators if they want to handle a
container you know with a container
handler or at the base to use the twist
lock locations on chassis or other
people that have walking twist locks
it's a great solid iso fitting that can
be welded to whatever and you know
already on the planet there's a ton of
twist locks capable with all different
types of trailers or you know welding
detachable whatever so yeah basically i
just want to show you the
the difference here we have a bl bottom
left it's always if you look inside the
corner casting it will be casted right
casting it is so here we have a bottom
left and then a top left just to show
one thing to note here is that
uh the bottom castings have the same
hole on both the side of the casting and
but then the top castings have
that same just oval shape on the side
and then that shield shape on the front
specific mods if we're going to be
tipping a container straight up and down
and using a engineered hoist plan to
lift this thing we'll actually use the
bottom castings both on the bottom and
there's nothing wrong with that same
quality same structural integrity
everything but then now we don't need
a separate uh like a swivel
ring or whatever just yeah a different
engineered plan to connect to
the one casting versus the other so the
only difference really between tops and
bottoms is that that front shield shape
and then just yeah lefts and rights of
if you check out our website we have all
different sorts of twist locks bridge
fittings quick attach skids container
jackers or specialty mounting plates
we'll try to get into all those in
